Non-Gaussianities from failed trapping events during inflation

A close encounter with an Extra Species Point during multi-field inflation can provide the dominant contribution to the power-spectrum. I compute the accompanying non-Gaussianities based on the delta-N formalism. The primary, potentially observable contribution originates from a temporary decrease in speed due to back-reaction of produced particles.
