The Encontro Nacional de Astronomia e Astrofísica comes back for the sixth time to the Centro de Astrofísica da Universidade do Porto with the support from Sociedade Portuguesa de Astronomia.

This workshop, the official kick-off meeting of WP5 (Planetary Systems, near and far) of the GREAT-Initial Training Network (ITN), is meant to join all ITN colleagues and collaborators interested in GAIA research related to extra-solar planets and solar system science.

Observational cosmology is going through a particularly exciting period. A range of ground and space experiments are gathering an unprecedented amount of high-quality data, which may allow us to tackle numerous enigmas.

Starting as a workshop in Ambleside in 1997, COSMO meetings rapidly became the key forum where particle physicists, cosmologists and astrophysicists worldwide meet and exchange ideas in one of the most active areas in physics. The meetings typically attract more than two hundred researchers.
