Inhomogeneous inflation
Bolejko, Krzysztof (University of Oxford)

At the beginning of 1990s it was realized that inflation cannot begin if the degree of inhomogeneity is too large. In was shown that in order to start, inflation requires a homogeneous patch of at least the horizon size. During my talk I will discuss the problems related to inflation within inhomogeneous backgrounds. I will also present solutions to this problem showing how, under specific conditions, one can start inflation even if initially the degree of inhomogeneity is large.
