Spectroscopic observations of Kepler stars

Ewa Niemczura
Astronomical Institute of the University of Wroclaw

Abstract
The Kepler space mission launched in March 2009, is providing continuous and high-precision photometry of thousands of stars simultaneously. The uninterrupted photometric measurements of asteroseismic targets need complementary ground-based spectroscopic observations to provide information on their physical parameters, such as effective temperature, surface gravity, metallicity, and rotation velocity, which are crucial for asteroseismic modelling. I will present the status of ground-based spectroscopic observations of Kepler stars.
