Practical information

Plane
The airport code of the Ponta Delgada international aiport is PDL. The airport is reasonably well served from Europe and the US/Canada (due to strong immigration). Flights can be searched at amadeus.net, ANA or the airport schedule.

You can also reserve a plane from Lisbon international airport to Ponta Delgada directly in the reservation form. If you have questions or special requirement for your hotel stay please contact directly the travel agent at ACardoso.porto@abreu.pt.

Internet
There is free wireless internet at the hotel venue for the school participants. A couple of computers will be available to read email. Probably internet plugs will be available.

Power plugs in Portugal
We use "SHUKO" power plugs. In practice these are the "same" as in Spain and Germany but are different from the French, US, UK and Italian ones. You can have some pictures of plugs at http://www.powercords.co.uk/standard.htm. You need to bring your own adapter/converter.

Weather
Weather in the Azores is more variable that in Ireland! Bring a raincoat and/or umbrella. It can be cold in the mountains. In Ponta Delgada the temperature in June ranges typically from (15.4 C / 59.7 F to 21.8 C/71.2 F), precipitation is 36.7 mm. You may check the weather at BBC Weather Centre.
