Postdoctoral FellowshipThe Centro de Astrofísica da Universidade do Porto (CAUP) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship, lasting up to 12 months, in any of its fields of research. Priority is given to applicants whose PhD work and current research interests will provide a relevant contribution for the ongoing research activities at CAUP.
CAUP is a young and active research institute situated at the main campus of the University of Porto. It is the largest astrophysics institute in the country and has been ranked excellent (top grade) by the national science foundation evaluation. The current staff includes 27 researchers (and also 13 Ph.D. students and several MSc students). The research activities at CAUP cover the following topics:
As a CAUP member the postdoctoral fellow will have access to all facilities, including also travel money for participating in conferences and staff exchange. The funds come from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Financiamento Plurianual), with support from FEDER. The monthly allowance is defined by FCT regulations (1495 euros – there are no taxes). As a member of CAUP the fellow may also apply for longer-term funding to extend the fellowship. Applicants should forward (preferably, by email):
