Work

I am an astronomer carrying out my research work at Centre for Astrophysics (CAUP), University of Porto.
My attention goes to multiwavelength observational studies of Young Stellar Objects, especially the pre-main sequence solar analogs known as T Tauri stars. For these studies I use mostly high, medium and low spectral resolution observations in the near infrared and in the optical wavelength ranges. I am also interested in radiative transfer modelling of spectroscopical data. In general, I am interested in star formation regions and stellar astrophysics.
Research Papers which you might find interesting.
I have got a fair amount of experience in astronomical observational work, resulting from telescope time allocated through competitive processes and also from my work as a support astronomer at the Isaac Newton Group (ING) Observatory, in La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain.
I was member of the Scientific Organizing Commitee and Local Organizing Commitee of the conference "Space Astronomy: from the Sun's neighbourhood to large scale structures" jointly organized by CAUP and the European Space Agency.

Football is a passion since I was a kid. When I want to know anything about the various portuguese competitions I go to InforDesporto Online. The institutional FIFA web site has plenty of information about the footballing world.
