ALMA: in search of our origins
New Worlds
The Universe was created from a cosmic explosion that happen in a specific point in space and time. Since then the most basic mater as developed and life originated. But life may have developed outside our small blue planet - in other places, within our Solar System, or in other star systems. Now these other systems are starting to be discovered.
Visions of the Cosmos
How can we observed all the different structures of the Universe? With telescopes! Since Galileu (1610), telescopes have developed to the current modern observatories, that from the ground or from space, allow us to study our Solar System, molecular clouds, clusters of stars, neighbouring galaxies or even the most distant galaxies in the Universe.

Our star: The Sun
How is the night's sky? What do does tiny bright spots of light hide? What makes our star work? A simple observation, made with the right equipment, reveals that the Sun is a very active star. But, as every star, the Sun will eventually die. What will happen to the Earth then, five billion years from now?
