SAO32177 is a main sequence star located close the red edge of the Sct-type variables region. During 1986-1987, several years before knowing the Dor stars as a new class of variables, the long-period variability of SAO 32177 was suspected photometrically by us while used as comparison star of the high amplitude SX Phe star XX Cyg. This variability has been recently confirmed (autumn 2001) with two-sites observations collected from Spain (simultaneous uvby Strömgren photometry) and China (V-Johnson photometry). The results lead this star as a new multiperiodic Dor-type pulsator.
