On the effect of a starspot on the modes of oscillation of a toy Ap star model

Starspots scatter acoustic waves, generating sharp horizontal variation. We present a method to approximate the structure of acoustic modes in a simple two-dimensional toy model of a spotted star, and discuss the influence of the spot on both the eigenfunctions and the oscillation frequencies.
