A very common assumption about the rapidly oscillating Ap (roAp) stars is to suppose that the mode axis is aligned or nearly aligned with the magnetic axis, assuming then a dominant effect of the field. We will show however that even if these stars are slow rotators, the centrifugal force is sufficient to balance the magnetic effects. The consequence is that the modes cannot be in general symmetric around the magnetic field. We will present these results and discuss the confrontation with the observational constraints.
