The meeting will take place in the auditorium of IBMC – Instituto de  Biologia Molecular e Celular (Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology)  which is located within a walking distance from the Hotel (10m) and  CAUP (3m). (see the map)

The modern international Airport in Porto has connections to most European destinations.

To travel between Porto airport and the town you have 2 options.
1) One option is to use the Metro. Metro's airport station is located in front of the arrivals zone. The metro station nearest the workshop venue is "Casa da Música", which is on the same line (violet line) as the airport. The journey time is 25 minutes, and there is a train every 20 minutes, from 6am to 1am. Its costs around 2 Euro.

Note that the Metro works on an open system (no barriers that will open upon presentation of a ticket) but controls are frequent. You need to be in possession of a validated ticket (tickets are validated before entering the train), otherwise you will be fined. For further details, see the Metro webpage.

2) Another option is to take a taxi. This is more expensive (25-30 Euro) and depending on the time of the day may in fact be slower than the Metro.

All participants will be staying at the Hotel Ipanema Porto, which is a 10 min walk from the "Casa da Música" metro station and a 10 min walk from CAUP.

Power plugs in Portugal

We use "SHUKO" power plugs. In practice these are the "same" as in Spain and Germany but are different from the French, US, UK and Italian ones. You can find  some pictures of plugs at Powercords Online. You need to bring your own adapter/converter.

You are invited to use CAUP's network facilities during the meeting. Facilities at the meeting venue will also be available.
