POSC Grid [A] - Stellar Frequencies

2007©MJM | 2007-03-31

The frequencies of oscillation for the models of the grid are available for downloading from the following directory:

   Frequencies for Grid A

where each sub-directory named "x.xx" corresponds to a particular stellar mass as given by x.xx. Within each subdirectory you may find the frequencies in the following sub-sub-directories:

For a specific stellar mass you can find, in the corresponding sub-sub-directory;

Each file contains the following data:

Column Data Description
1 l Mode degree (0 ≤ l ≤ 3)
2 n Mode order
3 ν Mode frequency (μHz)
4 Qnl Mode energy (Christensen-Dalsgaard & Berthomieu 1991)

The frequencies provided here have been calculated with the POSC code. The code determines linear adiabatic radial and non-radial oscillation frequencies using the isothermal atmosphere as the boundary condition at the last mesh point (only frequencies below the acoustic cut-off frequency are determined). When determining the frequencies the mesh in the model is expanded in order to improve the numerical accuracy in the calculation of p-mode frequencies.
