Resumo
Energetic particle precipitation is an important geophysical process which impacts both the atmosphere/climate and technology. I will briefly present research on two different precipitation phenomenon and their importance. The first is focused on Solar Proton Events and their impact on aircraft communications during polar flights. With the second using ground based measurements of VLF radiowaves to determine the flux of energetic electrons into the atmosphere, one of the key processes affecting the radiation belt populations, the home of many satellites.
