Resumo
A phenomenological classification for a wide class of unification theories will be presented. This is based on the way these theories model relations among fundamental couplings. Each model is described by two dimensionless parameters which, upon comparison with experimental data, allows one to probe, in a straightforward way, any theory in this specific class. An application of this test will also be presented using atomic clock data.
