AGN Activity in Galaxies

Andrew J. Humphrey
IA

This two-lecture advanced course aims to provide a focused discussion of
several topics related to AGN activity in galaxies, avoiding significant
overlap with the excellent undergraduate/graduate lecture courses already
presented by other colleagues. Main topics to be discussed include:

  • Warm gas-phase chemical abundances
  • Photoionization modeling of warm-ionized regions
  • Evidence for AGN activity in dwarf galaxies
  • Lyman-alpha halos at z>2 and associated absorbing shells

Session 1: Session 1
29 April 2015

Duration: 1 hour

Session 2: Session 2
19 May 2015

Duration: 1 hour

  • Warm gas-phase chemical abundances
